DUM MAARO DUM

This movie is a hollywood style, fast paced thriller that uncovers the dark, ugly side of Goa, the drug mafia. The storyline is strong, mysterious and the screenplay is excellent. The camera works outstandingly in the movie just like another character. Special kudos to the film editing which has made the viewing experience nail bitting. The film is more like a jigsaw puzzle to start with and the wonderful overlay of frames keeps the audience at the edge of their seats. Abhishek Bachhan has done a good come back and has effectively coloured the character of Vishnu Kamath, a narcotics cop. Rana Duggubati carries macho looks and has an impressive screen presence. Prateek Babbar carries out his bit effectively. The dialouges are well written and sound crisp. Deepika missed an opportunity to score on the super duper hit number Dum Maro Dum..The second half of the movie could have been equally fast paced....but somewhere the director was taken over by the thought he needs to make a bollywood film and went he conventional route in some scenes. But certainly the film is a good entertainer and another success from the SIPPY production house.
