MURDER 2

Director: Mohit Suri
Starring: Emraan Hashmi, Jacqueline Fernandes
Producer: Mukesh Bhatt

Murder 2 - I am not sure what Mukesh Bhatt had in mind when he decided on making a sequel of murder and i really know what director Mohit Suri was up-to when creating it. First of all i still don't know why the first one was titled murder and this one murder 2. If i had the liberty i would name it murder 2 many ;) this is a story of a psychopathic serial killer and the chase thereafter. All the characters in this movie come with heavy baggage and unload it on poor audiences. Some scenes in the movie are brutal, gruesome and gut wrenching. Imran Hashmi and Jacqueline Fernandez are mere mannequins of the movie who just try to show off their so called 'assets' . The chemistry between the two is actually like a experiment gone haywire in the lab. The hot and steamy scenes are the only to remind the audiences that its a sequel of murder. they hold no relevance with the movie. . Actually nothing does. . . So no need to spend your hard earned cash on such non sensible flick. . Rating 1.5 . I hope there is no murder 3. just pray! !

CHILLAR PARTY

Director : Vikas Bahl and Nitesh Tiwari
Starring :

Irrfan Khan, Divji Handa, Vedant Desa, Sanath Menon, Vishesh Tiwari, Chinmai Chandranshuh, Aarav Khanna and Rohan Grover

Chillar Party - Barring the title there is nothing Chillar about the movie. Hats off to director Vikas Bahl and Nilesh Tiwari to get out the best of the talents from over a dozen kids in the film where they outperform some of the current Bollywood stars. Its nothing less than making pigs fly. The storyline is simple which involves rescuing a stray Dog from the anti stray dog movement and Hows the kids work up to it. The movie is entertaining throughout and a must watch for all grown especially parent as there are lot of takeaways in the parenting space. Its proved yet another time that kids indeed teach us a lot of things. so do go and watch Chillar party for an entertaining and learning experience. Rating 4.5. . . Never underestimate anyone!

SHAGIRD

Cast: Nana Patekar, Anurag Kashyap, Mohit Alawat, Zakir Hussain, Vishwajeet Pradhan, Khan Jahangir Khan, Rimi Sen
Producer: Hussain Shaikh
Director: Tigmanshu Dhulia

Shagird-its a story of a crime branch cop Hanumant Singh(nana patekar) who is believed to be between GOD and humans because he fears GOD and humans fear him. This cop understands legal, political and underworld systems so well that he uses it well to the benefit of self and others. The plot is interesting with some twists and turns but overall the director fails to weave the threads in order to present a tough fabric for the audience. Nana does a an effortless job as this is just one more of this genre. He does a good job of entertaining the audience with his piercing and witty dialogues. Mohit ( Mohit Ahlawat) plays the Shagird. He poses himself as a wax statue almost throughout the film. The film reminds of hollywood hits Training day and Recruit. Ustad would have been a better title for the film but in the end its for you to see what suits best. Rating 2.5. One time watch if you dont have anything better to do.

DUM MAARO DUM

This movie is a hollywood style, fast paced thriller that uncovers the dark, ugly side of Goa, the drug mafia. The storyline is strong, mysterious and the screenplay is excellent. The camera works outstandingly in the movie just like another character. Special kudos to the film editing which has made the viewing experience nail bitting. The film is more like a jigsaw puzzle to start with and the wonderful overlay of frames keeps the audience at the edge of their seats. Abhishek Bachhan has done a good come back and has effectively coloured the character of Vishnu Kamath, a narcotics cop. Rana Duggubati carries macho looks and has an impressive screen presence. Prateek Babbar carries out his bit effectively. The dialouges are well written and sound crisp. Deepika missed an opportunity to score on the super duper hit number Dum Maro Dum..The second half of the movie could have been equally fast paced....but somewhere the director was taken over by the thought he needs to make a bollywood film and went he conventional route in some scenes. But certainly the film is a good entertainer and another success from the SIPPY production house.

thank you

Thank You - Its a decent comic flick by Anees Bazmee the director. The movie is a complete entertainer where three wives are in a constant struggle to expose their cheating husbands and the husbands in a constant effort to prove their innocence. Interestingly the common link is Akki who is a private detective. Overall the film maintains the basic logic of events and does not provoke the audience to say Thank You early but only at THE END. The dialouges are well written and brings out the humour well. Akki is as usual good with his wit, timing and cosanova look. In the end WELCOME back Anees. There seems to be NO PROBLEM in the future. NO problem

Except for a problem there are lot of things that are missing in the movie. Anil Kapoor productions disappoints the audience. The movie is a heavy starer but all fail to help execute a rather weak , storyline. As if so many humans were not good enough to create humor, the director has tried to use three gorillas to create fun and come to his rescue. Another disappointment is Anees Basmee who gave a decent hits in the past like No Entry, Singh is King, Welcome. Music is pathetic. Despite of foreign locations they are not refreshing. Overall there is no story no direction no humor no entertainment no paisa wasool but yes there is a BIG PROBLEM. So please spend you time and money wisely. Rating 1.5

No One Killed Jessica

A powerful movie which demonstrates the power of democracy...of the people...by the people....for the people...Justice is denied when the people with power and influence abuse it to such an extend that the Indian judicial system is left to the mockery. Hence an aptly titled No One Killed Jessica....because that what gets proved...and the Lal family has to live with it. That is where the aggressive media person thinks of this as an opportunity to do the right thing for a right cause and correct the mistakes of the past. The movie is very subtle in its storyline and execution which is very impactful. Vidya Balan steals the show by portraying Sabrina in a very low profile and by her underplay. Right from her body language with drooping shoulders, getup with larger than face spectacles. and facial expressions she plays it strong and hurt. Rest of the cast is fine and does a good job. Overall he movie is very crisp and compels you to think. Rating 3.5
